Legal Concentration
Specific experience:
My twenty-eight plus years legal experience, together with my experience as a small businessman and as a consumer of legal services, puts me in a unique position to provide excellent, professional and personal legal representation. There are a lot of competent lawyers out there. The vast majority of which are experienced in providing legal services. Few have experienced the other side of the coin: being a client, running a business dealing with legal issues on a personal basis. Going to one of these lawyers is like getting marital advice from someone who has never been married. He or she knows everything there is to know about the subject book wise, but has never lived it. This is where I am different.
In addition to practicing law, from 2006 to 2011 I served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Omni Bank, a community bank with over $750 million in assets. Additionally, from 2002 through 2012, I owned and operated a Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha dealership. Unlike many of my counterparts, I do not have to imagine what it is like running a business, making payroll, dealing with franchise agreements, lessors, suppliers, government regulations, insurance companies, lawsuits, employees and customers. I dealt with each of these on a daily basis, as a businessman, a lawyer and as a client. Banks have lots of lawyers for all kinds of issues from closings to regulatory matters and any and every other legal matter a large business can encounter. As a Director of Omni Bank, I had the unique experience of seeing the legal challenges not only from the prospective of the lawyer, but from the prospective of the client.
My experience as a small businessman and as a consumer of legal services, together with my twenty-eight-plus years legal experience puts me in a unique position to provide excellent, professional and personal legal representation. I understand that the legal system is intimidating and I have the training and experience to help you through it.
Representative clients:
Most of my clients are small businesses and individuals. From homeowners, landlords and tenants, to contractors, to professionals, to average, everyday folks, my practice is geared to representing people and helping them navigate the legal system. I am conveniently located in central Metairie with plenty of free parking. I am available to meet on your schedule and I return all telephone calls promptly.
I have practiced law for twenty-eight plus years in various areas. I began my legal career as a law clerk to Justice Pascal Calogero of the Louisiana Supreme Court. While there I gained a truly unique insight to the Louisiana justice system, the intricacies of all Louisiana courts and to trial and appellate practice. From there I spent eight years working at a mid-sized law firm with a practice that focused on insurance defense, product liability, business litigation, construction litigation, probate and successions, and professional malpractice defense primarily of Architects, Contractors, Lawyers and Dentists. For the last fourteen years my practice has consisted mostly of helping small business owners and individuals navigate the legal system is such diverse areas as Business and commercial law; wills, successions and probate; accidents, personal injury and business losses; and real estate transactions and disputes; Landlord and tenant matters; and construction and redhibition matters.
Mission statement:
My mission is to provide excellent legal services for a reasonable fee.
